Camp on TTD kalyanamastu held

Kakinada, Oct 13th: An awareness camp on the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) mass marriage program, Kalyanamastu was held at the Rangaraya Medical College auditorium here on Tuesday. All MLAs of various constituencies in the district participated in the meeting, which was presided over by district collector Mr. Gopala Krishna Dwevedi. Speaking on the occasion, the collector said that the present Kalyanamastu would be the fifth of its kind organized by the TTD in the state. The TTD was investing nearly Rs 50,000 per couple.

A total of 600 couple was married under this auspicious program last year in the district. This year the target was more than 1,000 marriages on October 28 between 9.20 am and 9.32 am at the centers of all Assembly constituencies in the district, he added. The collector directed officials concerned to select suitable places to hold the marriages and instructed them to bring about awareness among people about the TTD’s social service. He said applications would be available at the office of all tahsidars in the district. Filled-in applications should be given at these offices by October 20.
