Call to supply water for rabi

Kakinada, Dec 9th: A large number of villagers from various villages under Peddapuram and Anaparthi Assembly constituencies in East Godavari district participated in the Telugu Desam's agitation against the state governments recently taken decision on supplying water to lands for the rabi season. The Telugu Desam party unit organized relay at district collectorate on Wednesday. TD supervising secretary Mr. B. Bhaskara Rao has inaugurated the rally. He said that the government should take reasonable steps in supplying water.

Attending as the chief guest Ex-minister, Ch. Ramachandra Rao expressed concern over the situation. He said that the supply of water was make delayed and further delay of the issue would create huge loss to the farmers. The villagers raised slogans against the government and said that it was taking step-motherly policies in supplying water to farmers on the district for the rabi season. The present level of water in the river godavari and other water sources were good, but government had identified only some mandals for supplying water.
