Cabinet approval for free education

     New Delhi, Oct 31st: The cabinet has finally approved the free education bill which was pending from past long. The decision was finally taken on Thursday night by the Central Government.

    According to the bill approved by the Government free education will be provided to the children up to the age of 14, and the added provisions for the bill are no donations, no interviews to children or parents as a part of screening test, drinking water facility to the schools, 25 % reservation in private schools etc.

    Speaking to the media, the finance minister Chidambaram said that the education is fundamental right to the children which was given by the constitution. And accordingly it is their duty to provide free and compulsary education to the children. These amendments will be added to the bill passed in 2002.
