District Collector, Mr. Ravi Chandra hosted breakfast for HIV infected children at the Collector's Bungalow here on Wednesday. Collector said that East Godavari was one among the 10 Districts across the Nation where the Government had taken up Children Affected By AIDS (CABA) for the benefit of children affected by HIV/AIDS. The Collector said over 10,000 children affected by HIV/AIDS in the District have benefited from CABA. He said 57,731 people were declared HIV positive in the District and their percentage was 1.5 %. He also said 35 Kgs of Rice would be distributed monthly to 3,613 people suffering from HIV positive. This program was conducted in association with District Aids Control Society. Collector’s wife Smt Padmavathi, Additional Joint Collector Mr. B.Ramarao, District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) Mr. D. Vijay Kumar, Additional DMHO Dr. M.Pavan Kumar participated in this program.
