Chandigarh, Nov 4th: Nearly 45 people died when a private bus plunged into the Himalayan ravine of 300 feet down and 6 people were seriously injured. The incident took place when the bus was boarding from Kotighat to Simla.
According to the information given by the Eyewitness, bus boarding with 51 passengers suddenly went out of control when taking the deep turn around the sharp bend. Forty five including the driver and the conductor were killed in the incident.
Rescue operations were done by the border police of Bharat-Tibet to take the dead bodies from the ravine and the injured were shifted to the near by hospital in Simla.
20 of the victims belong to the same family who were going to attend the marriage function in simla. Himachal Pradesh CM rushed to the incident place, and showed his condolence. He announced an exgratia of 50,000 to each of the kin families.
