Bus operators seek relief

Kakinada, Dec 15th: The East Godavari district Private Bus Operators Association appealed to government to waive tax on bus services for non-operative days. According to the representative of the association, Mr. E. Dorababu, the Pro-Telangana and Samaikya Andhra Pradesh agitations had affected bus services badly. They also feared damage to the luxury buses by agitators. Operators incurred losses to the tune of Rs 2,000 per day in the form of operational costs.

The association operates more than 60 buses on a daily basis to Hyderabad from places like Rajahmundry, Kakinada, Amalapuram, Razole, Ravulapalem and other places, mostly at night services to suit the needs of passengers to various destinations in Hyderabad. Mr. Dorababu appealed to government to consider their appeal sympathetically and waive tax for the non service operative days during the agitation.
