The 2556 Birthday (Jayanti) of Gautama Buddha observed here on Sunday by Budda Vihar Trust in Kakinada. According to this, Arts College Telugu Department Head, Dr. Ch.Kurmayya presided over the celebrations as a chief guest. He advised the youth to emulate the preaching of buddha to achieve greater heights in their respective fields and to develop character. Special prayers and pujas were organised on the occassion by Trust members. Later, Sri Devarapalli Sriramulu inagurated the statue of Buddha at Ambedkar Bhavan.
