Bridge works gain momentum in town

Kakinada, Oct 28th: The construction works of the much awaited rail over bridge at sambamurthynagar here has gained momentum. The Kakinada (urban) MLA Mr Dwarapudi chandrasekhara Reddy inaugurated works of the Rs. 21.5crore Bridge on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said that the former chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy had proposed the bridge after examining its importance due to heavy traffic flow in the area and set foundation stone for the bridge works two years ago.

The mayor of Kakinada municipal corporation, Ms. K. Saroja, stressed the need for establishing two more such bridges at kondayyapalem and Achyutapuram in the city to control the heavy traffic flow, besides under construction bridges at sambamurthynagar and Perrejupeta. The executive engineer of the Roads and Building department, Mr. CSN Murty, said that they were taking all precautionary measures in constructing the bridge on international standards. It would take nearly one-and-half years to complete the bridge, the executive engineer added. The superintending engineer of the Roads and Building department, Mr. B. Manohar Swamy was present on the occasion.
