Kakinada, July 13th: The East Godavari District police achieved a breakthrough in two murder cases relating to the Tetagunta couple murder and Pithapuram pastor murder. The cops arrested six youth that were involved in the incident and recovered property worth Rs 1.50 lakh from the accused.
The Tetagunta murder case created a sensation in October 2008 when an aged couple Kanumuri Krishnam Raju, 70 and his wife Sarojini, 65 was strangled to death. The accused earlier followed the same modus operandi and strangled a pastor Suvarna Raju in 2005 at Pithapuram.
Disclosing these details to presspersons on Monday, the superintendent of police Mr. Y. Nagi Reddy said that the three murders in these two cases attained significance. The SP complimented the Peddapuram DSP, Mr. M.V Ramana Rao and the Tuni circle inspector, Mr. N. Madhusudhana Rao, for catching the accused. The SP said that both the cases were murders for gains.
