Kakinada, Feb 10th: Mr Botsa Satyanaraana, in-charge minister of East Godavari and the minister for Panchayat Raj launched 'Drusti', a first of its kind program for treating eye problems of inmates of all welfare hostels and students of all government schools. He inaugurated the program at a social welfare hostel at Tuni on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the program was aimed at providing proper treatment to the ophthalmic problems of boarders. About 40,000 students of 360 welfare hostels in the district are being screened. After the screening tests, those who were affected with the health problems would be referred to nearby primary health centers or hospitals, he added. These tests would be conducted up to March 20 and those who are taking Class X examinations would be given priority, he added.
