Rajahmundry, July 19th: Following the increase in water levels in the Godavari River due to heavy rainfall in its catchment areas, the AP Tourism Development Corporation is planning to run its boats from Pattiseema to Bhadrachalam. The corporation had suspended its boat operations from Pattiseema to Papikondalu for the last three months as there was no adequate draught in the Godavari to run boats.

The boat will start at Pattiseema in the early hours and touch Polavaram, Devipatnam, Singanapalli, Kolluru, Coonavaram and Bhadrachalam. The distance from Pattiseema to Bhadrachalam is estimated to be around 100km and it takes anywhere between seven and a half to eight hours to travel all through. Tourism authorities are charging Rs 500 from Pattiseema to Papikondalu at present, and if the journey is to be extended upto Bhadrachalam, they will charge Rs 400 extra.

Tourists will be accommodated at hotel Haritha. In the early hours of the next day, tourism authorities will arrange a dharshan at the famous Bhadradri Srirama temple and will take them by road to Parnasala. After that tourists will be brought back to Pattiseema from Bhadrachalam. The AP Tourism development corporation divisional manager Mr. K.V Venkateswara Rao said that they were expecting large number of tourists as it will not be possible in normal times for want of adequate draught in the river.
