Kakinada, Feb 22nd: BJP would soon launch an agitation in support of their demand of national project status for Polavaram. East Godavari District unit BJP President Y Malakondaiah while addressing a press conference here said that other political parties and people organizations would support their stir. He said unless the Center releases the required funds, it would be a herculean task for the state government to complete the project with its meager resources. Moreover, delay in execution would lead to cost escalation and the very purpose of the project would not be solved, he added.
On the reorganization of the party in the state, he said by the time the municipal elections are held within six months, the party would be strengthened ward-wise so that in every municipality, the BJP would open the account. Expressing concern over depleting water resources and the impending drinking water crisis in the district during the summer season, he asked the district administration to convene an all-party meeting to discuss the situation and find out remedial measures.
