Uppalapati Rama Tulasi was  married to kancharla Srikanth Kumar who belongs to Jaganaickpur, Kakinada in the year 2009 with a dowry of three and half acres of land and 240 grams of Gold. After a year knowing that Rama Tulasi is pregnant of a baby girl, Srikanth left her at his inlaws. Tulasi parents requested Srikanth to take her back, he demanded to gift him a car to take her back. With this Tulasi approched Peddapudi police station and filed a case against her husband. After some days srikanth applied for divorce. Srikanth along with his relatives forced Tulasi to give him divorce and tried to kill her by pressing her neck as she refused in Rampachodavaram. On the same day Tulasi approached Rampachodavaram Police to report about the whole issue. Tulasi and her parents along with police reached Srikanth's house in Kakinada and started Dharna infornt of his house. One town police reached there and has taken both the families to police station. Srikanth reported that they have snatched his gold ornaments and filed a case against them. Tulasi accused Srikanth saying that he forced her for divorce as he married another girl.
