Kakinada, Sep 18th: The Union Minister of state for defence, Mr. M.M Pallam Raju assured of efforts to increase maritime secure along the coast by setting up new Coast Guard stations, installation of radar sensors, strengthening manpower and aerial mobility facilities. The minister dedicated a berth belonging to the Kakinada Seaports Limited to the Coast Guard here on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the new berth would help the Indian Coast Guard minimize its response time in case of any emergency and help monitor the coast with more vigil. He thanked both the state government and the Kakinada Seaports Limited for providing a berth to the Indian Coast Guard. He appreciated the services of the ICG, saying that they were able to tackle smuggling, infiltration and helping fisherman in trouble, and said that the Coast Guard was ready to face any security related challenges affecting the Indian economic system.
