The two-day All India Strike (Bharat Bandh) called by 11 major trade unions was successful for the first day in Kakinada here on Wednesday. CITU, AITUC, IFTU, TNTUC, District JAC and many other unions jointly observed this strike and shut down most of the public & private organisations in Kakinada. Major Banks were closed and those employees also participated in the strike. All these unions highly grieved the State & Central Government activities. The strike was called to demand concrete measures to check inflation, ensure jobs and enforce labour laws.
