BDS student commits suicide

Rajahmundry, May 29th: K. Amulya (20), a student pursuing first year Bachelor of Dental Science at Lenora Dental College committed suicide by handing herself with her chunni at her hostel room. The incident took place on Friday between 11.15 am and 12.15 pm.  The deceased was hailing from Vishakapatnam and her father Kumar Raja was an engineer in the irrigation department at Vishakapatnam and mother was lecturer in Andhra University.

 

According to the information given by I Town sub inspector, Mr. M. Bala Krishna, Amulya was suffering from migrate and was under medication from few months. Due to which she was unable to concentrate on studies and failed in two internal exams conducted by the college. She attended two classes in the morning, reached the hostel which was in the same campus and took the extreme step.

 

The co-students of Amulya found her hanging to the hostel fan after they returned to hostel in the afternoon and informed the same to the management. The management in turn informed the same to the police and the parents of the girl. The parents were shocked with the news of death of their daughter and were under depression. Police filed the case for further investigation.
