Guntur, Oct 8th: The Vignan’s Lara Institute of Technology and Science at Vadlamudi organized selections for JNTU-Kakinada basketball men and women’s teams at its campus on Thursday. The process would continue on Friday also with 80 players from 50 engineering colleges affiliated to JNTU-K participating in it. College principal V. Madhusudhan Rao said that they were conducting a university-level sports event every year on the campus though it was only three years ago that the college was set up.
Vignan University Registrar C. Narendra Reddy said that basketball was a dynamic game and the players of the university should form JNTU-K Basketball Association and discuss about the game. He promised help from the college for forming such an association. Basketball player T. Raghaviah, who is also Vignan Sports Coordinator, said that the game was the second fast moving one played across the world.
