BARC enters into MoU with Gitam

Visakhapatnam, May 18th: Bhabha Atomic Research Center, Mumbai has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Gitam University here on Monday. Agreement was jointly signed by BARC-Health Safety and Environment Group director, Mr. H.S Kushwaha and the Gitam University registrar, Prof P.M Valli in the presence of the vice chancellor, Prof. M. Gangadhara Rao. A committee was formed with the experts from both organizations.

 

According to MoU, the Gitam science group will take up the environment impact of industries around the newly proposed BARC campus at Atchutapuram in Visakhapatnam district. From Gitam the team members will be Prof. N Lakshmana Das, Prof. N. Srinivas, Prof. K. Veerabhadram and Prof. K. Ramakrishna. From BARC the members will be V.D Puranik, Dr. G.G Pandit, Mr. I.V Saradhi, Mrs. S. Mishra and Mr. S.K Sahu.

 

BARC will participate in data analysis and allow students to utilize the data for their PhD degree in Gitam University. Gitam will be responsible for getting necessary information and environment samples for the project. According to the Gitam principal, Prof. N. Laxmana Das the entire project costs Rs 15.89 lakh. This is the third research project sanctioned to Gitam by BARC.
