Kakinada, Jan 29th: The banks in East Godavari district were directed to conduct loan melas on every 15 days and extend their support to the weaker section of people by promptly sanctioning loans under various welfare schemes. At a review meeting organised on the progress of issuing bank loans to the beneficiaries with the bank officials on Friday, the collector said that the state government was launching several welfare schemes for the sake of economically poor people. However the schemes would run on success path and the beneficiaries would get real benefits only if the banks extend their financial support, he opined.
