The bandh call given by the students JAC, Telugu Desam Party and YSR Congress Party against to the passing of Telangana bill in Lok Sabha, was peaceful and partial in Kakinada, here on Wednesday. Buses remained at depots on the day as the protesters staged dharna infront of the RTC bus depot. In response to this, the RTC drivers & conductors observed protest at the depot. Students from various schools & colleges conducted dharnas and rallies in and around the city. All the educational institutions, shops, malls, offices and other commercial establishments were remain closed due to the strike. However, the petrol bunks, cinema halls functioned normally and private vehicles moved freely. Some of the protesters burnt the effigies of Congress and BJP leaders, who supported for passing the Andhra Pradesh Re-organisation bill in Lok Sabha.
