Khammam, Oct. 5: Bandh was declared on behalf of farmers who were arrested under the fertilizers looting case. All – Party Farmers Committee decided to organize bundh from 11 am to 12 noon on Monday against the arrest of the farmers in Khammam district.
The committee led by Mr.K. Rama Krishna, president of Rythu Sangam interacted with the farmers and said that the Government had arrested 140 farmers under non bailable cases. Many of the farmers belong to congress and they were arrested without any proper reason. The ward members and the members of the ruling party were also included in the list. He also added that farmers are facing many problems due to non availability of fertilizers and agricultural minister gave all wrong statements regarding the farmers.
Rytu president Mr.M. Mutyam reddy said that CM failed to provide sufficient fertilizers to the farmers and due to which they are failed to grow their crops. So the farmers have no other option other than looting from the godowns He said that many innocent farmers were implicated in these cases. CPI leader Samineni Rama Rao said that many farmers were also booked under various cases such as burglary.
