Kakinada Badam Balakrishna Eye Bank 6th Anniversary Celebrations were observed here on Sunday at Surya Kalamandir. The program was held under the chairmanship of Eye Bank Chairperson Mr. Ch. V. Surya Rao. According to this, Famous Film Director Mr. V. V. Vinayak has presided over the program as the chief guest. Speaking on this, he has stated that there is no much awareness about eye donation in the society, so that so many people were living in dark. There is a huge need to do publicity on this, he stressed. Later, Eye bank trustee's Mr. Badam Balakrishna, Mr. Krishna Reddy, Dr. Datla Ravi, Mr. Chandrashekar, Dr. Vadrevu Ravi and others stated the importance of eye donation. After that, Mr. Vinayak presented awards to the winners of Slogan competitions, which are conducted by the eye bank as a part of the celebrations. He felicitated around 200 families, who have done eye donation in the city. APIIC Ex-Chairman Mr. S. Sivarama Subrahmanyam, Eye bank Secretary Mr. Dasari Saikrishna, Treasurer Mr. Pydah Krishnarao, Dr. Damerla Vijaya Lakshmi and many other prominent personalities were present.
