Babu demands probe in Hooch tragedy

Kakinada, Feb 4 : Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu  on Thursday demanded judicial probe into the Hooch tragedy that claimed 18 lives in and around Gangalakurru Agraharam in Konaseema region. Talking to mediapersons after visiting the Hooch tragedy victims at the Government General Hospital here , he said mere magisterial inquiry would not bring out the facts. He assured that his party would support the cause of the Hooch tragedy victims and, if necessary, launch a legal battle to render justice to them.

Later, he called on those who had fallen sick after inhaling the Ammonia gas leaked out from Coromandal Fertilizers Factory and enquired about their condition with the doctors on duty. He said both the government and the factory management should extend necessary assistance to the victims undergoing treatment and also to the families of the two employees who succumbed at the factory while trying to plug the gas leakage.
