Kakinada, Mar 24th: On the occasion of world TB day, an awareness program was organized at Government General Hospital, Kakinada on Tuesday. The program was organized under the chairmanship of district TB control officer, Dr Prasanna Kumar. DM & HO attended as the chief guest for the program, grandly inaugurated the Chitanya Radham by waving the green flag. The other awareness activities were launched by the government hospital superintendent, Dr. MBR Sharma.
Speaking on the occasion district health and medical officer, Dr Vijaya Kumar said that several DOTS (Directly Observed Treatment Shortcourse) centers were set up in the district to provide medication to the TB infected people. He said that the DOTS method will be effectively useful for complete eradication of the disease. He asked the infected people to make use of these centers and take medicines regularly. The rally started from Balajicheruvu and proceeded towards Masjid Center. Dr V. Chandra Shekar, Dr M. Raghavendra Rao, K. Satyanarayana, KSR Swamy and other took part in the rally.
