Kakinada, Aug 12th: The Kakinada Institute of Engineering and Technology (KIET) organized an awareness programme on ragging on Tuesday with the participation of Superintendent of Police Y. Nagi Reddy as chief guest. On the occasion, KIET students announced the formation of an Anti-Ragging Force to prevent ragging on the campus.
Mr. Reddy advised students not to be swayed by depiction of lifestyles in movies, which were always far-fetched from realities. Students need to have positive attitude and they should not be carried over by impulsive natures. What seniors and juniors should have between them was strong bonds of friendship but not animosity, which gets aggravated due to the acts of ragging. Personal feelings of all have to be cared for. Only then would an atmosphere of brotherhood be established, he said.
