District Collector Mr. M. Ravi Chandra stressed the need for awareness on how to face natural calamities and to reduce loss here on Thursday. He asked the officials to visit the mandals to which they were appointed during calamities without fail and be available to the public during the tough times. Addressing a special meeting on ‘Cyclone Mitigation,' Mr. Ravi Chandra said that the performance of the officials during the recent floods was satisfactory. He said that all the officials must review their own performance and try to give their best to the public. He advised the officials to focus on proper documentation of spending of funds and arranging to mitigate the loss from the time they receive the first warning signal. Addressing a meeting with the welfare officers later, Mr. Ravi Chandra said that efforts were on to get funds from the banks to construct pucca buildings for residential schools and anganwadi centers.
