The District Collector Mrs. Neetu Kumari Prasad has noticed the District Fire Department to create awareness on public about controlling of fire accidents. She has started the weekly celebrations of District Fire control department as a part of its Annual day celebrations here on Sunday at Salipeta Fire Station in Kakinada. Speaking on this, she stated that the major fire accidents are occuring because of the human mistakes, so these should be controlled only by creating awareness on fire control. She asked the department officials to do huge publicity activities on fire control in the district. Later, the District Fire officer Mr. V. V. Veerabhadra Rao said 'around 336 people lost their lives in Mumbai Odalarevu fire accident, which has occured on 14th April 1944. In memory of those people, every year the day was celebrated as Fire control department Day in the country', he explained. These weekly celebrations will be observed from 14th to 20th of this month, he added. Later, the District Collector has released the banners & posters of the program. She has flagged off and started the publicity bus in this program. Fire Officer Mr. V. V. Ramakrishna and other staff participated in the program.
