Awareness drive on traffic regulations

Rajahmundry, July 13th: In an attempt to bring awareness among the general public on traffic rules and regulations, the police has taken up a week long awareness drive from Monday. In this concern a meeting was held with the auto rickshaw drivers. Speaking on the occasion, the deputy superintendent of police, Mr. T. Jayaprasad, asked the drivers to follow traffic rules to ensure commuters reach their destination safely. He asked the drivers to return any valuable forgotten by commuters either to them or to the police.

 

The Intuc city president, Mr. Vasamsetti Gangadhara Rao, advised the auto rickshaw owners not to rent out their own vehicles to new drivers and also to those who were not members of workers union saying that new comers were resorting to criminal acts in the town. The TNTUC city president, Mr. Prasad asked the drivers to follow traffic rules and wear uniforms. He also asked them to insure their vehicles and keep details of the vehicle owner on the rear of the driver’s seat.
