Kakinada, Feb 11th: With the increase in number of cases of drug abuse and villagers approaching quacks for medical help for various health problems, the drug control administration intend to take up an awareness drive on medical help for the benefit of consumers in the state shortly. People are advised to approach a qualified doctor, get their health problem diagnosed and consume medicines prescribed by the doctors. The authorities also advise people not to consume liquor and juices made with citrus fruit while under medication.
The DCA authorities have a word of caution to doctors to make their prescription legible to all so that pharmacist deliver correct medicines as per prescription. Pharmacists are asked to deliver medicines only on prescription issued by a qualified doctor. All scheduled drugs should be sold across the counter only by a pharmacist and not by any other person. As per the directions from the DCA,s director general, drugs control administration are going to take up drive shortly by involving doctors, pharmacists and consumers.
