Kakinada, Dec 8th: To make the customer identify the genuine food and help them being cheated with adulterated food items at the time of sale, food control authorities are carrying out awareness program on food safety, hygiene and on identification of standard marks like Agmark and ISI on items in East and West Godavari districts. They are helping the consumers to identify genuine and imitation Agmark symbols printed on packaged agricultural products
Food control authorities are planning to carry out a drive in urban areas like Rajahmundry and Kakinada in association with the district consumer information center and other departments including legal metrology, drugs control administration, municipal authorities and others during the Consumer Week Day celebrations scheduled to be held from December 23 to 30. Assistant food controller K. Narsimha said that the main objective to conduct the awareness programs is to help the customers distinguish between genuine ans spurious products and purchase only genuine products.
