The Bhagyalakshmi Gas Limited Company signed an agreement with the Government to supply LPG door-to-door in Kakinada, Samalkot, Peddapuram and Pithapuram. Company’s representatives met District Collector, Mr. M.Ravi Chandra in his chamber this Tuesday. Mr. M. Ravi Chandra advised representatives to conduct introduction visits by experts to create awareness among the public about the proposed supply of LPG door-to-door through pipelines. The mother station would be set up soon from Vakalapudi. Mr. Ravi Chandra observed that there were many doubts among the public about the supply of LPG through pipelines and the residents of Vakalapudi were worried about the project. He advised the representatives to conduct an awareness campaign to clear the fear. Joint Collector Mr. K. Sasidhar stated that Rs. 75 would benefit consumers per month when they switch over to direct supply of cooking gas. Deputy General Manager of the Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) Mr. S.V. Prasad said that pipeline of 75 km would be laid in the city to supply LPG to the residences from the mother station. Officials of various departments were present.
