Government presents this award every year on 1st of October for individuals and voluntary organizations who work for old aged people. Nandula Suseela Devi had written a novel Sayam Sandhya that pictured about problems faced by old aged people. Apart from this, she also made an effort for educational development of poor students through Needa Voluntary Organization. Based on this, Suseela Devi was selected for this prestigious award.
