JNTU-K Vice-Chancellor Allam Appa Rao has called upon students to avail of the loans being extended by banks to enable them pursue higher education. He will request the banks to provide loans on liberal terms to students to the extent possible. Prof. Rao was addressing a review meeting in his chambers with Registrar V. Ravindra and Director (Academic Audit) G.V.R. Prasada Raju on Thursday.
The Vice-Chancellor said he was upset with the attempt to suicide by A. Rajesh, a student of Saradhi Engineering College, Nuzvid, in Krishna district, upon his failure to pay the stipulated fee due to financial difficulties. It was in this context that the parents should be aware of the various loan schemes.
Prof. Rao said psychological counselling was being given to students to infuse confidence about their capabilities to face any challenge. Both parents and teachers should play a crucial role in this regard.
