Attack on Ex-TRS MP

Hyderabad, June 15th: The former MP of Telangana Rashtra Samithi from Warangal, Mr. Ravindra Naik was manhandled by the TRS chief, Mr. K Chandrasekhar Rao’s supporters on Monday when the party’s state committee meeting was on progress at Telangana Bhavan. Mr. Naik who rebelled against Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao for denying 33 per cent reservation for women, particularly SCs and STs in recent elections lodged a complaint with Banjara Hills Police against the TRS chief, his son Mr. K.T Rama Rao, TRS leaders Mr. Karne Prabhakar and Mr. Ramamohan.

 

The Banjara hills ACP confirmed that a complaint was received from Mr. Ravindra Naik alleging that he was manhandled by the TRS chief’s supporters and sought action. A case under the SC, ST Atrocities Act was registered. All the suspended TRS leaders including Mr. Jitta Balakrishna Reddy, Ms R Uma, and Mr. Srinivas Reddy condemned the attack and demanded that Mr. Rao should resign.

 

Later in the evening, Mr. Naik came down and said that he would withdraw the case if the party leader’s apologies for the incident and withdraw the charge that he and other leaders were agents of Chief Minister, Dr. Y.S Rajasekhar Reddy.
