Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) Workers have staged a protest here on Monday, infront of the Collectorate in Kakinada. They had conducted this protest by demanding government to provide minimum salary for them. This was supported by AP Voluntary Health Workers Association here. They have mainly demanded government to provide pending salaries by applying GO:3 for them. Over time pay should be provided for their extra work, they added. Responding to this, District Medical & Health Additional Officer Mr. Pavan Kumar has reached to the spot and discussed with them. He had given assurance to them about their problems, then the activists set back to their work. ASHA workers union leaders K. Krishnaveni, Esther Rani, Annamani, Lakshmi, Ramanamma, Nagamani and others participated in the protest.
