Additional Joint Collector, Mr. B.Ramarao here on Friday stated that people should develop resistance power for the control of diseases in their body. He had participated in a Pension program organized for AIDS patients here on Friday at Anti Retro-viral Treatment (ART) center in Kakinada Government General Hospital. The motto of the program was to distribute Pension ATM cards to Aids patients. Speaking on this, he stated that treatment is being provided for total 9,716 patients from the district from ART and as of now, through this program, 3500 patients had received Rs.200/- pension each from the Government. He said, illegal sex & blood transferring activities are the main causes for AIDS. He suggested patients to take healthy food and medicines in time. Later, he distributed the Pension ATM cards to patients. Patients who use ART medicines regularly are only eligible for this pension, he added. District AIDS Control room Officer Dr. M.Pavan Kumar, Government Hospital Incharge Superintendent Dr. Budha, Dr. Sharma, DRDA Officer Mr. Someswara Rao and others participated in the program.
