Kakinada, Mar 9th: Elaborate arrangements are being made by the district council for cultural affairs for organizing the Ugadi celebrations in the district to mark the new Telugu year day. East Godavari district collector, Mr. Gopala Krishna Dwevedi, who is also chairman of the council, said in a press release that Vedic recital, Panchanga Sravanam, Ugadi Kavi Sammelan and other cultural programs were being arranged to mark the occasion.

The cultural fete starts with Nadaswaram by noted musician Pasupuleti Venkataramana troupe. Vedic pundits, including Gollapalli Lakshmi Ganapati avadhani, Gollapalli Venkata Subrahmanyam Ghanapati, Kappagantula Chandrasekhar avadhani and Bhamidipati Mithra Narayana Yajulu, will participate in the Vedic recital event. Vakkalanka Ramakrishnamma siddhanti will render Panchanga sravanam. Noted poets Jnanananda Kavi, Addepalli Ramamohanarao, Kakaraparti Bhagavan Krishna are among those that will participate in Kavi Sammelan.
