Kakinada, April 20th: The district election authorities have made elaborate arrangements for storing EVMs in strong rooms till the day of counting, May 16th . The strong rooms for storing the same are made ready at Andhra Polytechnic, MSN charities, V.S Lakshmi Degree College for Women, Rangarayya Medical College and Government Polytechnic for Women. JNTU, Kakinada is given exception from both polls and counting.
This time the counting will be organized on a centralized basis. Along with the related Assembly segments the entire counting process of Kakinada, Rajahmundry and Amalapuram Constituencies will be held at Kakinada. In addition to this Rampachodavaram segment counting will also be held here. Though Rampachodavaram falls under Araku Parliamentary constituency the counting will be held here.
The district collector and DEO, Mr. Gopala Krishna Dwevedi visited the counting centers and expressed satisfaction over the arrangements. He said that the POs and APOs need to submit the EVMs at the reception centers provided with the strong rooms. After randomization, polling staff will be allotted with counting centers few hours before the day of counting, May 16.
