Arogyasri for retired workers

Hyderabad, July 27th: The state government on Monday assured that it would consider positively a proposal to issue Arogysri cards to all the four lakh retired employees. The proposal, if implemented will benefit retired persons who are not able to get reimbursement from the medical and health departments after bearing huge medical bills in private hospitals.

 

Some of them are forced to wait for two years to get reimbursement even though they bribe the staff in the department. The issue came up for discussion in AP Legislative Council during the Question Hour. The MLCs Mr. Tippe Swamy, Kandula Durgesh Prasad and Mr. Yellareddy Shivarami Reddy raised  the issue and said thousands of retired employees were put to hardship due to the inordinate delay in clearance of medical bills.

 

The minister for health and family welfare, Mr. Danam Nagender, assured that the government would take all steps to clear the bills in medical and health department. He assured that the government would consider the proposal to issue Arogyasri cards to retired employees so that they don’t need to bear the medical bills while undergoing treatment in hospitals.
