Contract workers of the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) under the aegis of the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) staged a dharna in front of the District Collectorate here on Tuesday. They demanded regularization of their services in this dharna. Over 200 workers deputed in the RTC workshop demanded that their services must be recognized and facilities like weekly off, Provident Fund and Employees State Insurance must be provided to them. State secretary of the AITUC, Mr. Kirla Krishna Rao said they would intensify the agitation until the management of the APSRTC takes a decision in favor of the workers. District working president of the AITUC Mr. K. Satti Babu was present.
