APSRTC to go on strike

Hyderabad, Nov 14th: APSRTC union leaders declared to go for indefinite strike from November 29 with few demands. The committee consisting of 5 unions will take part in the strike regarding the withdrawal of proposed Setwin buses as a fear of loosing its monopoly in the transport sector.

JAC consisting of employees union, staff and workers federation, labour union and staff and workers union will take part in the strike. Mr. Syed Mohammed speaking on this regard said that they are hoping for the better response from the Government and will declare the actual date of strike within few days.

Karmik Parishad president Mr. M. Narisimha Rao said that they put 48 demands before the Government and waiting for the response. He also added that Setwin, which was the parallel transport service that was introduced, was aimed at privatizing the RTC.And the occupancy of RTC will fall to a large extend which was suffering with debts at present.
