APPSC issues Group-II notification

Hyderabad, Sep 17th: The AP Public Service Commission (APPSC) has issued the long-delayed Group-II notification for filling 682 vacancies in various departments in government offices. The notification came as a relief to lakhs of candidates as the posts were increased to 682 from 462 that were originally notified in December 2008. However the APPSC could not initiate the recruitment process in December following April 2009 general elections.

In the meantime, government had identified 220 more vacancies in various departments and had asked the APPSC to include them in the Group-II notification. The upper age limit for candidates appearing for these posts has also been increased by five years. With this the upper age limit of OC candidates went up to 39 years and up to 44 years for reserved quota aspirants. Candidates should fill applications online between October 1 and November 3. The exam fees should be paid through bank challan by October 31. The officials plan to complete the recruitment process within six months.
