Appeal to Congress leaders by APCC

Hyderabad, Sep 30th: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President D Srinivas on Sept 30 appealed to party leaders, including ministers and legislators, not to make any provocative statements but Exercise restraint on the issue of successor to late Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy in the state. Addressing a press conference, he said the Congress High Command was seized of the matter and would take a decision at an appropriate time.

Mr. Srinivas said the High Command had appointed K Rosaiah as the Chief Minister and it was the responsibility of all Congressmen to honor its decision. He said it was unfortunate that some responsible leaders were making statements against the Congress Working Committee members and other senior leaders in the state. This amounted to indiscipline in the party.

Stating that the provocative statements and counter statements by leaders within the party would harm its image, he said the opposition parties would take an advantage of this. He said the High Command was watching the developments in the state and the party would not tolerate any indiscipline. Strict action would be taken against the leaders indulging in anti-party activities.
