Samaikyandhra Bandh, called by the APNGO's for the entire Seemandhra was total in Kakinada, here on Tuesday. Normal life was paralysed due to this bandh. The transportation hit hard in the City as the Auto rikshaws and other services were stopped. However, the APSRTC employees were on strike since 13th of August. So that people had a tough time because private vehicles are only mode of transport. Kakinada Port services also stopped for the day. Samaikyandhra activists blocked the National as well as State highways, resulting in serpentine queues of vehicles. The activists went off the roads too forcing people to stay indoors. Rallies, Human chains blocked all the roads in the City. The trade bandh was also observed in the City. All the shopping malls, educational institutes, government & private offices, companies, organisations, etc., were closed in the city in support of the Samaikyandhra bandh. On the otherside, the agitations demanding Samaikyandhra continued on Tuesday too with the members of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of employees, teachers and workers participating in relay fasts, rallies and demonstrations in the city. However, the bandh was peaceful in the City.
