APgovt failed to control price rise

Visakhapatnam, Jan 12th: Andhra Pradesh Legislative council leader and Telugu Desam party (TDP) senior leader D Veerabhadhra Rao today criticized the State Government for its inability to control the price rises of essential commodities and recently hiked RTC Bus fare in the State. He said the party warned the government that it would face the people’s wrath if it did not take steps to curb the soaring prices immediately. Mr. Rao lambasted the government for giving importance to real estate business instead of solving the people’s problems.

Quoting the land acquisition GO for Hinduja Power Plant, he alleged that the State government was planning to cheat the farmers. Instead of constructing the power plant, even after 12 years, the Hindujas were planning to use it for real estate business, he alleged. 'It is in violation of the law,' he alleged. He also warned the government and the Hindujas that the farmers were ready to start agitation if they weren’t paid the market value to their lands. Former minister B Satyanarayana, city MLA V Ramakrishna Babu and other TDP leaders were also present.
