Tirupati, Sep 21st: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K.Rosaiah today said his government would not fall back in implementing the ambitious health care programs of former Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy. After inaugurating medical infrastructure at SVIMS, Mr Rosaiah, said late Chief Minister Dr Rajasekhar Reddy had prioritized funds for health care benefits for both rural and urban poor, in spite of financial crunch.
Andhra Pradesh had become the role model for other states in providing social welfare, health and healthcare benefits for rural and urban poor. Later, the Chief Minister also inaugurated an eye care centre ''Srinivas Shankar Netralaya'' at the TTD administrative complex, for which donations came in from the Chennai based philanthropist Ajay Rathi to the tune of Rs 50 lakh. The TTD had already received donation worth Rs 1crore from philanthropists for setting up modern eye hospitals with support from Chennai-based Sankara Netralaya.
