Tirupati, Nov 12th: The new Indian Space Research organisation (ISRO) Chairman K Radhakrishnan would inaugurate the three-day Andhra Pradesh Science Congress organised jointly by AP Akademi of Sciences and Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) in the temple town on November 14. Talking to newspersons here on Thursday, SVU Vice Chancellor N Prabhakara Rao said about 600 faculty members, scientists, research scholars and students from different Universities, Institutes and National Laboratories will took part in the Congress.

AP Akademi of Science President D Narayana Rao will deliver the presidential address while Shanta Biotechnics Limited, Managing Director K Varaprasada Reddy would deliver the valedictory address on November 16. During the conference, Dr Y Nayudamma Memorial Gold Medal would be awarded to Dr Radhakrishnan, who is arriving on his maiden visit to the temple town after taking charge as ISRO Chairman, for his pioneering contributions to Space technology, Prof Prabhakara said.

The focal theme of the Congress is 'Science and Technology: Its role in the Changing Global Scenario', Prof Prabhakara said, adding the Congress would have five sessions, including life and agriculture. Eminent scientists and technologists would deliver lectures during the Conference.
