AP State Government has decided to remove Value Added Tax (VAT) on Textiles. According to the sources, the State Chief Minister Mr. N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has passed orders here on Sunday on this. He had make this decision after reviewing with senior officials and representatives of textiles traders earlier in the day. Previously, the textiles traders had launched several agitations demanding complete withdrawal of VAT. Following an indefinite strike earlier by the textiles traders, the State Government had assured to resolve the issue and a Cabinet Sub-Committee was constituted to look into the issue. As the committee referred the issue to CM, the decision was finalized.
