Hyderabad, Jan 29th: The Andhra Pradesh Government on Jan 29 postponed the Intermediate Examinations by a week to March ten. This was decided by Chief Minister K Rosaiah in deference to wishes of students and others, School Education Minister D Manikavaraprasada Rao told media persons after a review meeting chaired by the Chief Minister at the Secretariat. Practical examinations would be held as scheduled, the Minister said. The examinations would end on March 30.
It may be noted that politicians, teachers and student organizations from the Telangana Region have demanded postponement of exams by 15 to 20 days to enable stir-affected students get sufficient time for preparation. The Minister said postponement beyond a week would not be in the interest of students who would have to appear for entrance examinations, including IIT-JEE and AIEEE. The class X examinations would be held as scheduled, he added.
