Andhra Pradesh Formation Day was grandly celebrated here on Friday i.e., 1st November 2013. The celebrations were observed in grand scale in Kakinada, while compared previous years. All sections people involved in the celebrations and paid rich tributes to the legend 'Shri Potti Sriramulu', who sacrificed his life for Andhra Pradesh formation. According to this, the district authorities have arranged the celebrations at Ambedkar Bhavan in Kakinada. The District Collector Mrs. Neetu Kumari Prasad has presided over the celebrations as a chief guest. Firstly, she has offered garlands to the statue of great Telugu patriot and activist Shri Potti Sriramulu at PRGC center and paid rich tributes to him on this occasion. Speaking on this, she stated that 'all should work together to develop the district in all aspects'. She explained the government schemes which are implemented and succeeded in the year. She said the district stood first in the country in seven sectors – enrollment of Aadhaar, linkage with Aadhaar-based services, Civil supplies, Pensions, Janani Suraksha yojana, Distribution of Scholarships and Subsidy to LPG Customers. The relief will be provided to all the flood victims, she added. Later, many of the school students from the district have performed fancy dress, dance, music & other activities by exhibiting the culture of AP in this program. On otherside, the Samaikyandhra activists observed the celebrations of AP Formation Day in their own ways by protesting against to the decision of state bifurcation here in Kakinada.
